August sailing breezes

NW’ly 15-20kt, gusting 30. 2 reefs in the main and a handkerchief sized jib. This is the weather my little yacht was made for. We’re regularly hitting 6kt on the beat and when we free off a little to reach down towards Fools Pt, the GPS shows 7.7kt top speed over the ground. There’s another yacht following a similar course on the journey to Manten’s. She has full sail up but is over-powered in the gusts and we gradually run away from her. This is magic sailing. The wind is big and steady. Not so strong that we pray for less and just strong enough that we don’t wish for more. It doesn’t get much better than this!

Unfotunately I am not the Clewless you’re looking for.
Good luck in the search and I hope it was only the boat that was lost and no injury or loss to the crew….

Ahoy Clewless, Fast forward to 2017: I’m trying to locate the owner of a sailboat named Clewless that is missing? That is, it has washed ashore on Lovango Cay in the US Virgin Islands during our recent hurricanes. I know this is a long shot to contact you, but I’m searching and you came up in Google. If you’re not this person, perhaps you’ve heard of another sailboat named Clewless? Thanks!

Hey ByteMe. Shaelyn is looking sweet. was a pleasant surprise to run into you on the water after I’d left the competition behind somewhere near Mistral Pt.

It was allot of fun. Only wish I had a jib, sailing on a main sail, well… The silly boat doesn’t point at all. If you are talking about me under full sail. I was and best speed was 4.8knots. Full main that is and a serious weather helm. Short list item, a jib that actually fits.
